MAIN QUEST: GTA 6 Trailer Reveal

Rockstar Games announced today that they will release the first GTA VI trailer on Tuesday, December 5th at 9am ET. Their tweet gained a million likes and over 45 million impressions in its first 3 hours. This follows reports of Netflix releasing Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy featuring GTA III, Vice City, and San Andreas to its mobile users.

GTA V was the fastest entertainment release to reach $1 billion in sales and has sold over 190 million copies since its release in 2013, according to Take-Two’s November report. This makes GTA V the second best-selling game of all-time only behind Minecraft which crossed 300 million units a few months ago.

Step back: How Tuesday’s trailer is received will tell the industry if GTA VI’s foundation points towards a record-breaking showcase or yet another heartbreaking story going into the end of 2023.

• Netflix is continuing its push into gaming by making Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition available to subscribers next month. Starting December 14th, Netflix subscribers can download the 3 GTA games from the App Store, the Google Play Store, or the Netflix App at no extra cost.

• With the success of the first 3 Resident Evil remakes, especially the Resident Evil 4 remake this year, Capcom has confirmed they will continue to launch more remakes.

• With ongoing holiday sales, the Xbox Series X has reached its lowest price ever, being listed for $350 at Walmart, with or without the Diablo 4 bundle. This could be a precursor for an official reveal of the leaked Series X Refresh.

• 🦔 The latest X post promoting Sonic the Hedgehog 3, slated for a December 2024 theater release, hints at Shadow being a major part of the film.

• 🍻 A Peter Griffin skin is coming to Fortnite, as Family Guy is the latest collaboration with the Battle Royale. Hopefully, we get the above GIF as an emote.

• 🚇 Cyberpunk 2077’s 2.1 patch, set to release on December 5th alongside the Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition, will bring a functional subway system to the game, with multiple transit lines throughout Night City and the ability to fast travel or travel in real-time.
